Quarter 4 Clubs at Lyseth

We’re excited to announce our offerings for Q4 clubs. Quarter 4 clubs are slated to start the week of March 31 and end the week of May 19. Please see our full club calendar here for all important club dates.

You will have until the evening of Wednesday, March 19 to complete the interest form and indicate which clubs your student is interested in joining. If there are enough seats, all students interested in a given club will get in. If more students indicate interest than there are seats, there will be a lottery. You will be notified within 48 hours after the interest forms close about the clubs your student has been invited to join. Please check your spam or junk folder as our messages sometimes end up there.

Q4 Offerings

Crafting Club (K-1)

Crafting Club is a fun and creative program where we explore a new arts and crafts project each week. Students will have the opportunity to work with different materials and techniques, allowing them to express their creativity and make fun, unique creations to take home.

Lyseth LEGO Club (Grades K-2)

In this club, students will use LEGOs to creatively build structures based on themes from stories.

Cooking Club (Grades 1-2)

Kids will learn to chop fruit and vegetables with a crinkle cutter, assemble easy snacks, and explore new foods and tastes. We can accommodate any food allergies and sensitivities.

Junior Chorus (Grades 1-2)

I am excited to announce the start of the Lyseth Junior Chorus! We welcome your child to join our vocal ensemble, which will rehearse on Mondays, from 3:30-4:15 PM beginning March 31 in the music room. Junior Chorus is for all students in grades 1 and 2 who enjoy music and would like to sing in a large group.

Girls Scouts: Amazing Outdoor Art (Grades 2-3)

As an artist, you can walk outside and see colors, shapes, and ideas for things you want to create. From painting to clay and beyond, this afterschool club is your chance to get creative, make outdoor-inspired art, and have a blast while doing it!   Awesome Outdoor Art is for second and third graders who are not currently in a Girl Scout troop. Girl Scout membership is required upon registration, financial assistance available. 

Total cost: $65 ($25 for the program and $40 Girl Scout membership fee - financial assistance available). Please email kpowell@gsmaine.org with any questions you might have.

Baseball/Softball Club with Coach Mike (Grades 3-5)

Baseball/softball club is a CO-ED experience focused on skill development for the upcoming Little League Season. The goal of this program is to expand interest for all kids at all levels from grades 3-5 ONLY, in the game of baseball/softball.

Girls Field Hockey with Coach Jessica Parrott (Grades 3-5)

It’s back!! Do you love field hockey? Are you just curious about what field hockey is? Do you want to get together with a great group of girls and have a great time? Field hockey is for you! This club will meet twice per week and take place outdoors.

Dungeons & Dragons with Ryan Williams (Grades 3-5)

Embark on epic quests and create unforgettable adventures in our new Dungeons & Dragons club at Lyseth Elementary. Dive into a world of imagination, teamwork, and creativity as young adventurers work together to overcome challenges, slay dragons, and become heroes of their own tales! No materials necessary - just imaginations!

• Grades 3-5 

• Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 pm 

• Seats: 10 per section 

• Start date 4/3, End date 5/22

Running Club (Grades 4-5)

This club is open to 4th and 5th grade students with a keen interest in running. The goal of the program is to prepare students to participate in the Merita Mile to be held at the school. Practices will be held two mornings per week and will be focused on building endurance and running strength, and will consist of 45 minutes of disciplined physical activity. We'll be using the school fields, woods trail, and the surrounding neighborhood streets and sidewalks for a variety of running based activities and games.

Flag Rugby (Grades 3-5)

Rugby is an international sport and this introductory set of sessions will include tons of fun activities that will foster teamwork and individual growth. We'll be passing and catching, running and communicating in a supportive environment. No experience or particular skills necessary. Sessions will be in the gym so please bring and wear sneakers.

Movement Club with Ms. Mooney

A great active way to start the day! Students will engage in various stretches, exercises, sports, dances, and team building activities. They will learn about healthy habits and discover what forms of movement they enjoy being a part of.
